Call for Applications: Undergraduate Admissions for the 2025–2026 Academic Year | University of Rwanda

The University of Rwanda (UR) invites all interested candidates to apply for admission into undergraduate programs for the upcoming 2025–2026 academic year across all its Colleges and Campuses. The online application portal will be open from 16th June to 16th July 2025.

I. General Entry Requirements

Applicants must meet the minimum academic entry requirements specific to each program, as outlined on the official UR website. Admission to UR is highly competitive and is based on academic performance, particularly results from the Advanced Level National Examinations or their equivalent qualifications.

II. How to Apply

All applications must be submitted online through the UR admissions platform at www.ur.ac.rw. Follow these steps based on your category:

For National Applicants (Senior Six graduates from 2012 to 2024):

Visit the UR website and click the “Admissions” section.

Select “New Application” and follow the instructions provided.

For International Applicants and Nationals Who Completed Senior Six Before 2012:

Complete the required biographical information to generate a Reference Number and create a PIN.

Upload the necessary documents via this portal, including:

Certified copy of your Senior Six Certificate

National ID (for national applicants)

Passport and Equivalence Certificate in the Rwandan system (for applicants with foreign qualifications)

Ensure you record your Reference Number and PIN before proceeding.

Application Fee:

5,000 RWF for Rwandan and EAC applicants

6,000 RWF for Non-EAC applicants

After generating your Reference Number, pay the application fee and wait 10–15 minutes before continuing.

Login & Submission:

Return to the UR online portal.

Log in using your Reference Number and PIN under “Registered Users”.

Complete and submit your application as instructed.

III. Payment Instructions

Use the Urubuto System to make your payment with your Reference Number via:

Bank of Kigali (BK) counter

MTN Mobile Money using *775*5#
BK Internet Banking or BK Mobile App

  Important: Do not make payments through BK agents.

IV. For Applicants Who Started but Did Not Complete Their Applications

If you previously began an application but did not complete it:

Pay your application fee using your previously generated Reference Number.
Log in to the UR application portal using your existing Reference Number and PIN.

Resume and complete your application.
